Mixed painting styles by Cindy Wider

Here I have taken on the appearance of my Sindy Doll from my childhood as I soar into the universe on the back of a baby pelican (my earth angel.) I painted this image when I found out I was pregnant with my baby daughter and I pondered the possiblities of how she would perceive her world. I also realised that if we learn to work together we can achieve anything. This image taught me the value of interdependence.

This is the first work I have created which unites all three styles; the realism, hard edge and expressive style. The painting in in acrylic on canvas. For mentored level students; the step by step process is available in the mentored level classroom area.
