This image was created in graphite pencils HB 2B 4B on bainbridge board and measures 30cm x 36cm high. This image was commissioned by my gallery owner and director here in Noosa and I was given the one and only photograph her husband had of his beloved parents who had since passed away. I worked from a tiny coloured image to enlarge the drawing to this size. It was challenging as I couldn't see the details very well, so I used an image of her husband to understand his parents features a little better. I relied heavily upon my anatomy knowledge and knowledge of fabrics and folds here. Whenever we draw patterns on frabric as I did in this dress, we draw the dress first then add the patterns afterwards.
