Unit 5: Perspective Art Supplies
In addition to a computer with internet connection, printer, and scanner, you need the following supplies:
Art Materials
- 2H, HB, 2B, & 4B Pencils
(same as in Unit 1 – They come in a twin pack)
- Hard Plastic Eraser (or vinyl eraser)
- Putty Eraser (or kneaded eraser)
- See through Plastic Ruler
- Hand-Held Pencil Sharpener
- Cotton buds (Q-tips) – Buy from Supermarket, Chemist or Beauty Products Store
- 1 sheet of tracing paper
- Roll of non-waxy baking paper (to place under your hand and protect your paper from smudges) use a ruler to tear it into a wide strip (approximately 15cm wide), then halve it – Buy from the Supermarket
- Fine sandpaper (to prepare your pencils for shading) (320 Grit preferable) – Buy from Hardware Store
- A4 bond paper to print out course notes (make sure you print on the colour setting for this course) – Buy from a Stationery Store
- Drawing paper: you can use plain printing paper for the exercises in this course. However, if you choose to shade your perspective drawings as shown in your notes you need a quality smooth, drawing paper or watercolour paper that is not too shiny or your graphite will not adhere to the surface. I suggest a
High Quality Smooth Drawing or Watercolour Paper (Hot Press – 250gsm)– Recommend the 9″ x 12″ pad so it will (nearly) fit on your scanner.
Optionally for Perspective Students…
