You are the Queen of your creative destiny
What if I said I have the answer you’ve been looking for?
A creative identity shift.
Let me explain what I mean.
The Signs That Show You’re Ready for a Creative Identity Shift
Maybe you’ve been feeling like you don’t really know who you are anymore. Or who you want to be.
This often happens after retirement, when you no longer identify yourself by the role you held in your career.
But identity shifts can happen from other things too:
- Trauma
- Serious illness—yours or a loved one’s
- Suddenly caring for elderly parents who are no longer independent
- Relationship changes
- Financial shifts
- Anything that requires a major life-changing experience
All of these can affect your identity and make you question your entire being and your future.
Have you been wondering lately:
“Who am I? Who am I becoming next? What is my big purpose?”
“Is there more for me than still giving out to others; retiring to babysitting the grandchildren (of course they are adorable and deserve your loving attention, but they’re growing up too now) caring for my parents, keeping a regular house routine? Should I go back to work?”
“Am I selfish to ask myself ‘what about me?'”
“If there’s more to discover about my identity, where do I find it? How can I find my true purpose in life and who do I want to be?”
“Do I deserve a bright new future or am I too old for that? Is it too late? Will my health hold out for me to begin something new?”
These are the signs that reveal you’re questioning who you are and who you want to be. Your identity.
Maybe you’ve been slowly experiencing a transition from one phase of life into the next. Feeling regrets about the life you’ve lived. Wishing you could have done more. Achieved more.
This could have been happening to you over the past several years. Even before retirement began. Maybe you’re not even retired yet? You could be planning your future so that you avoid this identity shift dilemma.
If this sounds like you, even just a little bit… keep reading.
What’s Your Current Creative Identity?
Now let’s look at where you are right now.
Think about it for a moment. What do you believe about your own creativity? How do you identify with creativity in general?
Are you:
- Very creative?
- A tiny bit creative?
- Not at all creative?
(I’d love to hear from you—just leave a comment below or email me)
If you believe you’re not creative (many people feel this way) when do you think that thought first began?
I can remember the exact moment it happened to me.
I couldn’t paint shadows beneath gum trees because I couldn’t draw the shapes right, so I thought “that’s it, I’m just not talented” and gave up drawing at the age of 14 years.
I became a hairdresser instead.
I didn’t consider that being a hairdresser was creative. I didn’t think I was creative because I couldn’t draw.
Of course I now know that’s not true and I discovered drawing again at 23 when I turned to art as a form of therapy to help me overcome a serious illness.
Here’s what I know: Almost every child is born creative. And then somewhere along the way, as we grow up into responsible adults, we lose that natural-born instinct to create.
Sure we all make creative decisions in our life, but are we truly expressing our creativity? Do we truly believe deep down inside that we’re creative?
Here’s the beautiful truth: It’s never too late to find it again.
Two Important Questions
If you know you’re creative but you’re not expressing it in your daily life—why not?
What could happen if you did? How would you choose to express it?
If you believe you’re not creative at all—would you like to know how to discover your suppressed creativity?
To release your imagination in ways you never did as an adult?
It’s in there. Hidden. Locked away. Imagination, creativity through drawing as the carriage, an entire world awaits you.
You just have to know how to awaken it. That’s where I can help.
I’ve Been Helping Women Just Like You
I’ve been helping retired women do exactly this for over 33 years (17 years online).
I want to help you understand what creative identity really is—and how you can find yours again.
I’ve been working with women who are right at this exact point in their lives.
Women who are looking for purpose, for creative release, and they don’t even know it at first.
They find that purpose fulfilled, through releasing their suppressed creativity, using drawing as the carriage.
Now, this search for creative identity can happen at any age. But I’m particularly drawn to retired women from the analytical and caring professions:
- Teachers
- Doctors
- Nurses
- Coaches
- Trainers
- Hairdressers
- Psychologists
- Audiologists
- Anyone who has been caring for others and is also analytical
These women most commonly come to me for help to re-discover their creative identity through drawing.
What Is Creative Identity Transformation™?
Most people don’t even know such a thing exists.
They ask “What is Creative Identity Transformation™?” Why is this? Because we don’t know what we don’t know.
This is the next wave of awareness and you’re hearing about it right here and now.
Drawing (with my unique methodology) is an incredibly easy carriage to help you awaken your hidden creativity at any age.
This isn’t just ordinary drawing.
This is drawing using my 4 major comparison skills with the ‘Artist’s Language’—a special way of using metacognition to draw on-demand.
Why Retired Women from Analytical Professions?
Besides this group of women being perfectly poised in many ways:
- More time on your hands
- Less distractions
- Wisdom
- Empathy
- Deep character skills that many younger people don’t have
I’m personally driven to work with this group of important women.
Here’s why:
In our “discard” society, too many women in retirement are feeling left out. Lonely. Sad. Not needed anymore. Empty. Expiring. Set aside, or discarded.
I know this is true because I’ve heard so many women tell me this. They no longer feel needed or wanted. They keep themselves busy but question “what’s in this for me? What about me?”
I believe in you. I believe there is the best life yet to come for you too.
You have a purpose. Creativity can help you to realize that purpose.
I believe life is only just beginning for women in their retirement. You’re in your prime time. You’re poised ready to become the Queen of your destiny.
It Only Takes One Mental Shift
You decide. You choose. Then make the statement:
“I am the Queen of my destiny. I choose my future.”
There are two choices:
Option 1: You’ll think you’re grasping onto the last years of your life as you move through retirement…
Option 2: You’ll decide that you’re just beginning this next beautiful phase in life: “It’s my time now. I’ve given so much to so many for so long. Now it’s time for me.”
Does This Sound Familiar?
The women I’ve worked with in my coaching programs come to me looking for something meaningful in their lives, through drawing.
They truly don’t even know where to begin. They just know they’d love to learn to draw once and for all.
Often they’ve been retired for about one or two years. All the novelty of retirement has worn off by now.
The reality of retirement:
✗ The lifetime dream of ’round the world’ holidays have all been had
✗ The long decadent sleeping-in days are no longer necessary
✗ The kids have left home, got married, and have very busy lives
✗ They’ll ask for babysitting every now and then (and of course you’ll help out), but they’re often far too busy for much else
✗ You’ve dabbled in the odd “hobby” or maybe even a ‘paint and sip class,’ an odd one-off scrapbook stint perhaps
✗ But it doesn’t fulfill your analytical mind. It just bores you
You know there’s more. A new challenge. But what? And where do you begin to look?
Perhaps you can relate to what I’m saying here.
In 2026, It’s Your Year
This year you could make a resolution to begin towards your creative identity change. Maybe you already have.
You’re claiming your right to be the Queen of your creative destiny.
You’re ready to embrace your future with a whole new attitude.
You’re NOT winding down. You have so much more in you.
You’re NOT ready to be labelled as “too old” or “not able” or anything else.
You can do what you choose to do now. It’s your time. You have full freedom of choice.
Questions to Ask Yourself
How will you fill your time?
How have you been filling it? Does it need to change this year?
What if you could do something that gave you a new purpose? Something that enabled you to really grow into your next identity transformation?
Maybe you don’t even know what that looks like yet because you don’t know what you don’t know, right?
All you’re thinking is: “I don’t want to stay the same. I know there’s something better for me to achieve. I have life in me. I have years of wisdom that I don’t want to just waste.”
Here’s What I’ve Discovered
When you embrace your new creative identity, you open yourself up to so many more possibilities.
You become filled with:
- Hope again
- Joy
- A refreshing new perspective
Because I show you how to draw in a way that no one else can.
You’ll draw an incredible self-portrait. And then you’ll see that you ARE creative after all.
Not only that, you’ll say: “Wow, if I can do this—learn to draw in my 60s, 70s, 80s—what next? What else can I do?”
When I explain to you what drawing is and where it comes from, you’ll see that it’s actually inside of you. It always was.
Drawing Is the Carriage
Drawing is the carriage that releases your creative identity transformation.
It helps you cross the bridge so you can enter into a bright, positive, deeply fulfilling future.
You’ve carried the exact abilities for drawing all of your life. All you need to do is give yourself permission to release it.
My new book will tell you exactly how.
Tips to Get You Started Today
But I have some tips for you right now:
1. Ask yourself this question:
“If I could do anything in the world just for me—not for anyone else—what would that be?”
2. Remember your childhood:
Think about your favourite things when you were a child. Toys. Music. Games.
If you still have any of these things, take your time to go back and look at them now.
3. Create a visual history:
Look at old family photos from when you were growing up.
4. Make a treasure collection:
Make a scrapbook with memorabilia and things you love in it. Collect things you like in a box.
I add these little mementos to my bookshelves in my art room.
5. Create your special corner:
Make a special corner in your home just for you. Your things. Your treasures.
You probably did this as a child. But if not then, why not now?
This Is YOUR Year
The year you claim your creative identity.
The year you become the Queen of your destiny.
