I had to share this stunning portrait by one of my most outstanding mentored students Marta Oliehoek titled ‘Amelka’. Marta has used the cross hatching style with Derwent Coloursoft and Caran D’Ache Luminance coloured pencils.
The skin colours are beautiful, and she has captured this single moment in time so well. I also admire Marta’s simple background that supports this portrait. The hatching and cross hatching is very well done and gives this drawing a unique style. Well done Marta, keep going!
