My ultimate life goal was to become the best artist I could be in my life time from a very early age. I had spent a life time doing workshops with various artists, reading, and studying in a quest to become that artist, but you are not fully aware of what you don’t know.
Joining Cindy’s class accelerated that journey, consolidated and expanded my knowledge and experience, to such a level I stepped into full time study, completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts Visual Arts, and started entering competitions and exhibitions. I soon won my first award.
Prior to meeting Cindy I could paint quite well, but the very foundation of all artwork, drawing, was missing and I could only copy mostly using the Grid Method. I didn’t have the freedom to make artworks of my own choosing. When I met Cindy, I began a journey starting with the very basics and quickly building skills sequentially to become that artist producing high quality art. A-Z covered all in the one place, no chasing all over places trying to fill gaps you
didn’t know you had.
Joining Cindy far exceeded my expectations. When I first began with Cindy, I knew I had found the place I needed to be because I had already read Cindy’s book “Paint in your Pyjamas” and was dumb-founded that no one had every taught me to draw in this manner. It seemed so logical and easy.
In fact, no one had ever taught me to draw, at all. Not while doing art at school, nor at any workshops. In fact, it seemed to be assumed that you were either born knowing how to draw, or you weren’t.
No one ever suggested it was a learned skill, and it was so simple how Cindy broke down drawing in her book. Skills that could be applied to anything you wanted to draw. I eagerly read the book and did the exercises in one day. The method was so logical and easy. It was like an answer to a prayer when I discovered that Cindy taught from a town not too far from me and I couldn’t wait to join her at the beginning of her next course. I found I achieved more than I could have imagined.
I will be eternally grateful for Cindy. Cindy changed by life. Not for a year or 2, but a lifetime. I have now taught Cindy’s teachings to many hundreds of students, and in turn I have changed many lives also. I have been teaching 15 years now and a gallery represented artist, and know this is my life purpose. I wouldn’t be doing what I am without Cindy.
Cindy, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for seeing the potential in me and all the help you have given me throughout the years. I am very grateful for it all and for you always being there.
