There are many changes that you have helped me with. I feel the most significant change that you have helped me with, Cindy, is to have faith and belief in myself and know that with a little assistance from you and effort on my part, that I can achieve my goal.

You have helped me to respect other artists’ endeavours, communicate with them via Cindy’s Chat club, and to encourage them, if possible.

Since I commenced my art journey with you, I have become more aware of the beauty of the natural world. I now stop to admire the plants, trees, birds, rivers and mountains. All of my senses such as: sight, touch, sound, smell and taste have awakened. It gives me immense joy to walk through the fields at the back of my house and enjoy the beauty of Mother Earth. It’s good for the soul.

Never in my wildest dreams, did I expect to be illustrating my own children’s book, which was a lifetime dream. When I started with you, Cindy, I was unable to draw a circle, an ellipse or anything. However, having completed the “Complete Online Drawing Course” and watched your videos, I became more confident and more enthusiastic about my art.

Whilst, I have a lot yet to learn and to practice, I feel that I have come a long way, thanks to your constant persuasion and encouragement, Cindy.

Since, I discovered you in 2020/2021; I have admired your own artistic talents. You have shared your own artwork and it resonated with me. It has inspired me to explore my own creativity. You have also shared the artwork of other very professional artists and this has influenced me as to my own art style.

Apart from Art, Cindy, you helped me immensely when I had my horrific car accident, back in April, 2022. The accident affected me physically, psychologically and emotionally. You were able to empathise with me, engage with me and actively listen to me, and provided emotional and physical support. You allowed me time to somewhat recover. At the same time, you gently persuaded me and encouraged me to continue with my art.

Writing my own children’s book has been a great experience for me and continues to have many health benefits for me also. To conclude, I am very grateful, Cindy for your commitment, dedication and patience
shown to me, since our first meeting.

I retired from a very busy nursing career in October, 2021. In April, 2022, I was the victim of a horrific car accident, which left me with multiple injuries. I live alone as my family have grown up and left the “nest”. Following my accident, I suffered from stress, anxiety, pain, very high blood pressure, loneliness, isolation and low mood overall.

Engaging and participating in art projects/activities has undoubtedly helped me in my recovery thus far. It gave me a reason/purpose to get up and get dressed in the morning and to participate in an activity that I really enjoy. By doing this, I forgot about my aches and pains for a short period, which in turn boosted my mood, reduced my stress and anxiety and promoted more positive emotions.

As a result, my blood-pressure returned to a very normal reading. This was/is great news as high blood-pressure can lead to kidney disease, heart disease and stroke. Maintaining a normal blood-pressure can help us live longer.

By engaging and participating in art projects, such as writing my children’s book- Jamie and Jojo, I can now communicate and share ideas with yourself and other artists through your online social media platform ‘Cindys Drawing Club.’ This has helped me with my art but it has also helped me in combating loneliness and provided me with a sense of purpose and meaning.

Since commencing my art journey with you, I have become more aware of the beauty of the world around me. This has encouraged me to take an hour long daily walk through the green fields and observe nature at its best. This activity can release Endorphins- the “feel good” chemical, which can relieve pain, lower stress, improve mood and promote a sense of well-being. Walking can also improve physical health, and boost cognitive function. I enjoy my daily walk and always feel good afterwards.
