Wow! I just had to share this gorgeous ‘Old Hayshed’ Landscape drawing with you all today because one of Brigitte Back’s students; Ed Evans has really created a great rendition of this exercise. Well done Ed!
I was so impressed with Ed’s ability to develop those wonderful dark tones in the shadows within the barn, and to apply such a lovely smooth even application of graphite in that area too.
The leaves, grass and bushes all demonstrate excellent pencil technique with some wonderful tapered Chisel-point strokes. There are some excellent confident Broad strokes in the barn roof and this artwork has an overall wonderful feeling of depth, movement and atmosphere.
Ed has obviously understood his course notes very well, read everything carefully then applied what he learned to achieve this great result. Brigitte his instructor has done a great job to help and encourage Ed to achieve this great result. Well done Ed and I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
